APY

February 1, 2026 · 1 min read

APY is the annual yield including compounding, useful for comparing savings and investment yields. The key is what changes when it moves up or down-prices, cash flows, risk, or incentives.

Example: Two accounts with the same APR can have different APY if compounding frequency differs.
